Mom Who Boss Ft. Toccara Myers

It was THE best, interviewing this Mom Who Boss, Toccara Myers. She is one of the most hard working, determined women I know. When adversity comes...she doesn’t slow down...she goes HARDER. She is a woman who wears many hats. (While I’m typing this my heart is swelling with love and pride because this is how much I adore and admire this chick!)

As I think of people to interview, I go with who comes to mind first. Because the Spirit know? ...Knows who needs encouragement and who needs to hear advice. (It’s so amazing that we are blessed with that power, if we only choose to tap into it)

I thought of this wonderful woman and when I asked she was super excited to do we did it!

Our journey together began with her as my son’s soccer coach and now it has blossomed into a growing friendship.

So on to the interview...shall we?

Who are you?

“I am Toccara Myers and I am 34 years old. I am a mother of four boys, Zacarían, Moses, Kavin, and Tyce. I am a recent graduate of Paul Quinn College and a Delta”

(She is the proudest Delta I KNOW)

“ I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer but I am already a survivor.”

How do you boss?

“I have several businesses. I have a T-shirt business (we’re twins!). I’m a travel agent, a notary, a real estate investor (twins again!). I also have a non-profit organization called OwnHerShip, which is a female empowerment organization focused on giving info, financial support and more to girls and women who have a desire to become entrepreneurs. I am also a tax professional.”

This mama has 1 million jobs!

What does your typical day look like?

“I wake up, get the kids ready for school, drop them off, then I complete t-shirt order work. I contact clients about their taxes. I handle business considering my rental property investment. I might have a parent conference since one of my sons has a behavioral disability. I also help others with their businesses, by giving advice and more. After that is done, I pick the kids up, then we have soccer practice and football practice. When we settle home and everyone is in bed I work on my travel businesses and [any other loose ends I need to tie] until the next day. My day usually ends at 12 or 1 am.”

“Every other week, treatment to get chemo, and I take my work with me to complete at treatment.”

“I also just started speaking engagements! My most recent ones were, [as a breast cancer champion] at the Women In Pink 2nd Annual Ball and Fundraiser and also the Bridge Breast Network.”

“Every other week, treatment to get chemo, and I take my work with me to complete at treatment.”

What motivates you to keep pushing?

“I have eight eyes looking at me at all times. I want to set up a legacy to leave them so that they don’t have to start at rock bottom”

“I want to set up a that they don’t have to start at rock bottom.”

What advice would you give an aspiring/current boss?

“There is always tomorrow. Don’t try to create and do everything in one day. As long as you look forward to tomorrow you will never give up.”

“There is always tomorrow.”
